Research Questions:

1.How can pronunciation be improved by using technical devices?

 

2.Is pronunciation addressed in school? Which grade?

Our plan

We would like to find out which role pronunciation has at school, how teachers make students aware of mistakes, and how often pronunciation is thematised. Furthermore, we would like to see how pronounciation can be improved by using technical devices. At the end we would like to sum up, whether the application worked or not and how it could be used at school.

We are planning to observe and film students (grade 5 to 10) three times using the application we chose.   At the end of our experiment we will compare the videos and see how this application worked. We decided o focus on the following pronounciation issues: th, v-w, bird-sound. After that, we will interview the students and ask them how easy or difficult it was to work with the app and how pronunciation is adressed at school.

Videos and audios will be uploaded in our e-portfolio.
